IT’S BEEN A SLEEPER, BUT NO MORE. WHILE NOBODY WAS NOTICING, OVER THE PAST FEW YEARS AVENUE P HAS BEEN GENTRIFYING AND EXPANDING TO ACCOMMODATE ALL THE NEEDS OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY.
Avenue P has everything from a pharmacy to a bank. You can buy all your food, and even a pot to cook it in! Need a birthday cake, maybe a haircut or a massage? No need to get into a car!
How about a lawyer, a photographer, a new dress, a wed- ding gift, some flowers, or an apartment to live in? It’s all right there. You can grab a cup of coffee on your way to the shoemaker, pick up some meat for a last-minute barbecue, or a beautiful painting for your living room. The stores on Avenue P are established, and the store owners are dedicated! Their patrons are loyal. And their camaraderie is better than ever! Plus, their vacancy rate is zero!
Are you dieting or just weight watching? The local stores are catering to all the prevailing food trends. They have smoothies and greens drinks, custom sized salads, a selection of low carb, high fiber, and low- calorie treats.
It’s easy to park and near a park. Bring the kids! While you are at it, might as well bring the whole family and take them for dinner!

When My kids were young, I used to take them to Avenue P park every day. Sometimes we would bring our dinner there, sometimes even their homework. It is a friendly place and we felt at home. We’d always stop to do an errand on the way home. Our policy is if they didn’t sell it on Avenue P, we didn’t buy it!!
Lately, Avenue P has also been becoming a popular place for business owners who can use small offices. It’s a reliable, local avenue with less of a parking struggle than its neighboring avenues.
“Who needs to get in a car? (Or who needs Manhattan?)”
The KHBA is one of the reasons why Avenue P has been becoming more and more popular: Plus it is supported by Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams and other elected officials such as Councilman Kalman Yeager, Assemblyman Steven Cymbrowitz, Senator Andrew Gournardes.
There are new tree guards around newly planted trees, weekly street cleanings, and the best police precincts 70 and 61, with low crime rates.
